Is there anything that I should be aware of during my pregnancy?
Yes. It is important to eat a well balanced diet, have good oral hygiene and see your dentist for scheduled cleanings. Some women experience a condition called "pregnancy gingivitis" during their pregnancy. It results from their changing hormone levels and can cause their gums to become swollen and inflamed. Sometimes it is recommended to have more frequent professional cleanings during the second and third trimester of pregnancy.
